Tables for the 2014 MoCCA Arts Festival are now sold out.
GUIDELINES FOR REGISTERING TO THE 2014 MOCCA ARTS FESTIVAL
The 2014 MoCCA Arts Fest will be held at the 69th Regiment Armory at Lexington Avenue between 25th and 26th Street in New York City.
The 2014 MoCCA Arts Fest will last for two days: Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th. The event will be open to the public both days from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Exhibitor set-up and check-in will begin at 1pm in the afternoon of Friday, April 4th, and continue at 9am the morning of April 5th. Teardown will be on April 6th following the close of the festival. Specific hours will be e-mailed to exhibitors closer to the dates of the festival. MoCCA Fest reserves the right to add, remove, or otherwise change the designated times for set-up, teardown and other scheduled events and programming.
* Admittance to the exhibitor room during set-up and breakdown will be limited to those exhibitors with exhibitor badges only.
Applying to the Festival
Please send applications to the Society of Illustrators or email email@example.com. The Society will issue a confirmation email to all applicants upon submitting their application to exhibit. Applications to the 2014 MoCCA Arts Fest will only be accepted by email, fax, return receipt mail or in person. We are not responsible for lost applications. You must receive a receipt or email acknowledgment. Please contact us if this does not happen.
All Payments Must Be Made By Credit Card, Check, or Money Order
All payments must be made in US dollars. Make checks payable to The Society of Illustrators and include with your application. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks. If you are paying by credit card the Society will email you a link to pay online once your application has been approved.
Filling out an application is not a guarantee of space or placement.
Contact Information Section
Your table should pick one person to fill out this section who will then be considered the "applicant of record" for that table. All festival related correspondence will be conducted via email with that person, who is in turn responsible for passing the information on to his or her tablemates and keeping the Society informed of any address changes.
Exhibitor Information Section
Each full table receives 5 badges. Each half table receives 3 badges. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to purchase additional badges. Enter information as it should appear on the name badge and MoCCA Arts Fest website. Each name will be listed individually on the website.
Table Information Section
Each full table is 6' x 2.5' and comes with 2 chairs; each half-table comes with 1 chair. If you require additional chairs please let us know.
Should the need arise for any confirmed exhibitors to drop out of exhibiting at the 2014 MoCCA Artst Fest, our refund policy is as follows:
• There is a $50 non-refundable deposit on all exhibitor space.
• After March 1, 2014, all payments are non-refundable.
• Reservations are not transferable.
Exhibitors are restricted to comic and cartoon artists and their representatives. This includes: Artists of creator-owned comics, publishers, and writers, selling only comic/cartoon art, comics and graphic novels. Exhibitors must display published material (self-published accepted) to be eligible.
The MoCCA Art Fest and its representatives are not responsible for any loss, damages, claims, or injury. All exhibitors are expected to adhere to all New York City, New York State, and 69th Regiment Armory rules and laws.
In addition, the following rules must be observed:
• Exhibitors shall keep all designated areas clean and will not nail, screw or attach anything to the 69th Regiment Armory facilities.
• Outside alcoholic beverages and the use of any illegal substances in the 69th Regiment Armory during festival hours is prohibited .
• The subletting of exhibit space without prior written permission of MoCCAFest is prohibited.
• No item of any type may be placed in the aisles. All display material must conform to local fire regulations.
In the event that an exhibitor is removed from the MoCCA Arts Fest for failure to abide to any of these rules, all monies paid to shall be forfeited to the Society of Illustrators and no refund shall be made.
Exhibitors shall not utilize any fixture, device, merchandise or activity that is illegal, in bad taste, or detrimental to MoCCAFest or the comics industry (as determined by the Society of Illustrators in its sole discretion).
Our “Adult Content” policy is: We respect your First Amendment rights, but we try our best to keep the event a safe place where parents can be proud to take their kids. Therefore, we respectfully request that there be no openly displayed material depicting explicit violence, nudity, or sexual conduct. Adult material must not be sold, given, distributed, or accessible to minors.
Exhibitors are solely responsible for all taxes. If you are selling taxable items, you are required by New York State law to file the “Application for Registration as a Sales Tax Vendor (DTF-17)” form. This form and more information can be found here. If you need help filling out the form or need information about what items are taxable, go to http://www.tax.state.ny.us/forms or call (800)-225-5829 for assistance If you already have a resale number for New York State, remember to bring a copy of your Certificate or Authority to the Festival for presentation if requested.
In order for everyone to have the best event possible, we ask that you respect your fellow exhibitors, especially in terms of noise and space use consideration. If any problems arise during the MoCCA Arts Fest, please ask Exhibitor Relations for guidance.
The MoCCA Arts Fest shall have the full power in the interpretation and enforcement of all contract regulations contained herein and the power to make such amendments thereto, and such further rules and regulations shall be considered necessary and proper.
