The Honorable Mayor Michael Bloomberg, on behalf of the City of New York, will be proclaiming the second week of November as the 5th Annual Celebration of Illustration Week.

Illustrators Sketch Night at the Society of Illustrators
Tuesday, November 8 6:30 - 9:30pm
Illustrators will pose alongside professional models as the Dining
Room transforms into a large sketch studio. The live jazz will be performed by The Half-Tones featuring illustrators Barry Blitt, Joe Ciardiello and Michael Sloan with special guest guitarist Kenny Wessel. Open to the public. $15/ $7 students

An Evening with Children's Book Icons

The Society of Illustrators presents an evening with children's book
icons and illustrators Ted and Besty Lewin, Jerry Pinkney, and acclaimed
writer and critic Leonard Marcus. The evening will include a silent auction featuring a selection of original art sponsored by the Children's Book Council. A book signing will follow.
