Start Making Sense: The 23rd Members Open

December 04, 2012 - December 22, 2012

This year the Society of Illustrators is excited to present the show Start Making Sense, a groundbreaking exhibit where Illustrator, Illustrator-S and Educator Members of the Society are invited to create an illustration on a trading card supplied by Strathmore Artist Paper.

Curated by Leslie Cober-Gentry, this show is based on the Talking Heads lyrics "as we get older and stop making sense..." and asks members to select one of the five senses, or traditionally recognized five methods of perception (ear, eye, hand, nose, mouth). Art may be created in the medium of your choice, including 3-dimensional works and collage.

Members have created an illustration on a blank trading card provided by the Society of Illustrators.  A selection of cards will be available to purchase through an online auction beginning the second week of January.

The auction is now live!

53 original trading card illustrations are now available on ebay.  The auction closes Tuesday.  Check the specific card to exact see closing time.
