Reina Takahashi is a paper artist based in San Francisco. She has done work creating props for marketing shoots and stop motion videos, assets for packaging, book covers, greeting cards, editorial and more. She has been working with cut paper for over ten years, and loves the challenge of representing anything out of paper. Her clients include Wired, Facebook, Google, Lyft, Better Homes & Gardens, and American Greetings, among others.
Jacqueline Tam is an illustrator from Hong Kong, currently residing in Harlem, New York with two cats. She has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, Illustration as Visual Essay program and has worked on a variety of editorial and commercial projects, including the New York Times and Pandora Jewelry. Her illustrations are poetic and experimental, and seek to capture a world full of mystery and wonder.
Siyue Tan is currently working and studying in Boston. Her name, which in her native language Mandarin translates to “thinking and reading”. She started drawing and reading since early childhood and was deeply influenced by literature, musicals, archeology and Discovery Channel. In Siyue's work she strives to convey the same sense of whimsy, hopefulness, and drive that I valued so much in art and culture.
Wenjia was born in Jiangsu China and came to study in the US when she was 15. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA degree in Illustration in 2017, and moved to NYC to become a freelance illustrator. She has done a lot of editorial work and some of her clients include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Variety Magazine, The Atlantic etc. Her work is inspired a lot by retro illustrations in the 1950s, and loves the textures from screen prints.
Hayley Powers Thornton-Kennedy
Hayley is a freelance illustrator living, working, and teaching in Baltimore Maryland. She earned her MFA in Illustration Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she now teaches part time. She works with clients like Apple, The New York Times, Harvard, and BUST Magazine, making pieces that feature bold shapes, weird colors, and strong ladies. She has received recognition from American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, and Creative Quarterly.
Brenna Thummler is a freelance illustrator and graphic novelist from northwest PA. Her first original graphic novel, Sheets, was selected as one of Barnes and Noble’s “Best Books of 2018” and the sequel, Delicates, has been acquired by Lion Forge with expected publication in 2020. In addition, she has worked with such clients as The New York Times, Washington Post, Razorfish, and Country Woman. When she’s not drawing, you might find her tap dancing, making music, or lost in the woods somewhere.
Giulia Tomai is a freelance illustrator born and based in Rome, Italy. She studied Illustration at the European Institute of Design and, after her degree, she founded Studio Pilar, a creative studio and cultural association. She works as a freelance illustrator since 2011 for the major Italian publishers like Mondadori, Einaudi, Rizzoli and Battello a Vapore. She collaborated with Timbuktu Labs for the second ”Goodnight Stories for Rebel girls" book.
Junichi established a style often recognized as “California Roll Stylie,” the result of both a visual and conceptual fusion of Japanese pop culture and American urban culture. He founded STUDIO STUBBORN SIDEBURN to broaden his visual communication and to employ his visual language in art, illustration, and design. Junichi’s pieces possess highly communicative, assertive graphics, and contain clear signs pointing back to his strong design background.
Rita Tu (Qianwen Tu) is an illustrator and a motion designer, she creates illustrations and also animates her drawings. She draws elements separately, combines them later, and transfers them into animation works. Most of her artworks have a dream-like feeling and attract viewers to start an unrealistic journey with her. Her artworks focus on exploring the beauty in between of illustration and motion fields. She is interested in publishing, children’s illustration, licensing, and motion markets.
