Creating Characters and Stories

This fun illustration class offers in-class character drawing skills and inspiration from weekly Scavenger Hunt & Draw prompts. Young artists will create different drawings and develop their own unique illustration style. Each week we will build on understanding characters and how illustrators find inspiration. The weekly prompts and art materials list will be sent in an email. At the end of the series students will have experienced drawing different characters and mini story ideas. They will also have gained a fun experience talking about their characters with the group.

Participants will join Zoom with the art materials needed and their character research assignment to share.

Zoom classes are taught by professional picture book author / illustrator / instructor Clare Pernice.

She has since illustrated and exhibited works in Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charleston and New York.
