Dumb Questions and Dinner: Navigating the Industry with Daniel Salmieri and Aviva Michaelov.

Join illustrator Daniel Salmieri and New Yorker Art Director Aviva Michaelov for an informal conversation over dinner at the Society of Illustrators. Open to students and emerging professionals (those within their first ten years of an illustration career), this is your chance to ask two top professionals anything about the business. This event will be private, so no question is too dumb!

Seating is limited to 7. Interested attendees must fill out a quick online application and include a brief statement on why you should be invited to a seat at the table.

About the Hosts:

Aviva Michaelov grew up in Tel Aviv and graduated from Parsons School of Design. She is design director of The New Yorker magazine. Through 2016, she was the art director of the Opinion pages at the New York Times, leading the design of the Op-Ed page and Sunday Review section. Her work at The New York Times has been recognized by the Society of Newspaper Design.

Daniel Salmieri is an award-winning illustrator from Brooklyn, NY. He has illustrated 12 picture books, including 4 New York Times best-sellers and regularly creates illustrations for magazines and newspapers. His clients include The New York Times, The New Yorker, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Enchanted Lion Books
