Gonzo Sketch Night

To celebrate the current exhibit A Retrospective: RALPH STEADMAN, the Society is hosting a special sketch night with the theme GONZO.
The term “gonzo” was used to describe the satirical, exaggerated writings of Hunter S. Thompson, as first seen in his article “The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved.” The article, written for the June 1970 edition of Scanlan’s Monthly, featured illustrations by Ralph Steadman, and portrayed the drunkenness and lewdness of the spectators. Steadman and Thompson would go on to work a numerous projects together.
Models will be dressed in costumes based on the historic collaborations between the writer and artist.
$20 | $15 seniors/ students (Undergrad students with valid ID).
Pay at the door.
Special sketch nights include complimentary small plates buffet.
