Saturday Stories: Illustrator-led Workshops for Children & Families : Featuring José Fragoso

On Saturday, August 17th, join José Fragoso, acclaimed author and illustrator of "My Voice”, a bilingual book created for children to explain in an easy and fun way how to use their voice to make a better world. José Fragoso ha escrito e ilustrado "Mi Voz", un libro infantil en edición bilingue dedicado a la voz, a aprender a usarla para beneficio de un mundo mejor.

José will read his book My Voice, Mi Voz in both English and Spanish, then he will talk about imagination, creativity and how he tells a story with illustrations. During this hands-on workshop, José will use colored pencils and watercolor paints to express how water as a living element makes illustrations come alive! Participants will explore this technique to create their own imaginative artwork.  

Good for all ages 5 and up!

About the Artist:
José Fragoso is an acclaimed children’s book author and illustrator from Madrid, Spain, currently living in Chicago. He has worked on more than twenty books for publishers, including Scholastic, Penguin Random House, Green Seeds Publishing, Alfaguara, NubeOcho and Narval. He teaches Illustration at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago and at several Chicago Public Schools. He is the in-house illustrator at Picture Farm Productions NY.

$25 covers admission and workshop for 1 adult + 1 child. Additional children are $10/each.
