Saturday Stories: Illustrator-led Workshops for Children & Families: Featuring Monica Wellington

On Saturday June 15th, join Monica Wellington, acclaimed author/ illustrator. Monica will read and introduce her book Zinnia’s Flower Garden and show some exciting behind the scenes stages of how she created the book. During this hands on workshop, participants will draw from a variety of fresh, colorful flowers using their observation. Then see their artwork grow from black and white sketches to vibrant color using various color materials, collage and their imagination.  

Good for all ages 4 and up!!

About the Artist:
Monica Wellington was born in London and lived in Switzerland and Germany as a child. She has written and illustrated more than 40 picture books for young children, all in her bold, bright style. Her popular books include Zinnia’s Flower Garden, Apple Farmer Annie, My Leaf Book, Mr. Cookie Baker, and her newest: Dear Ballerina. She lives in New York City and she teaches at the School of Visual Arts.

$25 covers admission and workshop for 1 adult + 1 child. Additional children are $10/each.
