Tara McPherson

Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City. Creating art about people and their odd ways, her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in their eyes. She explores, through portraiture, the realms of our psychological states via myths, legends, astronomy, physics, nature, love, loss, childhood and good old life experience. Giving us a peek into the complexities of the human psyche through her otherwordly characters.
The Center for Cartoon Studies

The Center for Cartoon Studies offers a two-year course of study that centers on the creation and dissemination of comics, graphic novels and other manifestations of the visual narrative. Experienced and internationally recognized cartoonists, writers, and designers teach classes. CCS programs include a two-year Master of Fine Arts Degree, One- and Two-Year Certificates in Cartooning, and annual summer workshops. The school is located in historic downtown village of White River Junction, VT.
Thi Bui

Thi Bui was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States as a child. She studied art and law and thought about becoming a civil rights lawyer, but became a public school teacher instead. Bui lives in Berkeley, California, with her son, her husband, and her mother. The Best We Could Do (Abrams ComicArts) is her debut graphic novel.

Tiffany is a visual artist, illustrator, and chronic doodler. She documents everyday happenings through an intimate sketchbook process that translates into narrative based work focused on labor, place, and belonging as it pertains to American identity. Her work seeks to destabilize the mythology of the American Dream as an idea of opportunity and guaranteed success.
