WORDS & PICTURES: Exploring the Art of Picture Book making with Author and Illustrator Clare Pernice
Thursday Afternoons, 3:45pm - 5:45pm
October 11th, 18th, and 25th

Children’s book author and illustrator, Clare Pernice, will lead this new after-school series focusing on the creation of children’s stories and illustrations.

During Words & Pictures, all participants will have the opportunity to create their own original book pages. Students will learn the materials and processes involved in developing main characters, storylines and illustrations. Clare will introduce the exploration of composition, color, perspective, various styles and materials, expressive vocabulary, and more!

The Society’s award-winning children’s books, exhibitions and collections will serve as inspiration.

No prior art instruction is required. Participants are welcome to bring favorite art supplies, but all materials will be provided.
